Perfect Day

It was everything I dreamt it would be, and more. I would not have changed a single thing.

I sent that "It's almost time" photo when I was standing in the limo bus by myself, waiting for my matron of honor to come get me when it was time for the processional to begin. Shortly after I sent it to the blog, she came out to tell me that the church coordinator had closed the doors to the church and that the coast was clear for me to come inside. Moments later, "Ave Maria" began playing as our mothers walked down the aisle to light the unity candle.

And in a blink of an eye, it was all over. It really is true, what all brides say... it really does go by THAT fast. It's a total blur, but it was fabulous. I absorbed it all as much as I could, but it's still a blur.

The weather was fantastic. I woke up to sunny skies, and before the limo came to get us, we had pictures with the girls and my parents at my mom's house, while Michael had pictures with the guys and his parents outside of the church. As we pulled up the church, the sky was darker, and we began to hear rumbles of thunder. And once we were in, and I was down the aisle, it POURED. Boy, did it pour. The thunder rolled.

After the ceremony, it continued to pour during our receiving line (which was thankfully moved inside), and then, it let up. We managed to take family photos outside on the church steps in between sporadic showers. Then? The sky cleared and it was absolutely beautiful and sunny for the rest of the day. Incredible.

We took awesome bridal party pics and photos of just the two of us in these great locations that our photographers scouted and found for us. And the photographers... they were incredible. We LOVED them. We can't wait to get the pictures back.

The reception was flawless. The food was fabulous, music was fun, and everyone had a blast. I honestly had the time of my life. It was the most fun I have ever had... ever.

We'll be getting other pictures back from our guests (or at least we hope we will), but so far, only my boss's husband has come through for us. :) We just got home from our morning-after brunch to find almost 100 pictures in my e-mail. And it's extra fabulous because he is actually a professional photographer. We didn't hire him for the wedding, but he can't help himself--he brings his camera everywhere. He could only make it to the reception (so no ceremony photos yet), but we reaped the benefits... a few extra "pro" pics.

And now I can share them with all of you! Just a "sneak peak" of the day...

So I stumbled on your blog about two weeks ago when I was looking for DIY pocket folders for invitations (I'm a designer and my family/friends who are getting married have asked me to do their stationary/invites) and I got hooked into your life.

I was away with family this weekend and found myself hoping for beautiful weather not only for us, but in the back of my mind for you and your family too. I'm glad we (sort of) got what we wished for!

Although I have no idea who you are and you don't know me I'm so happy for you! Congrats and thanks for letting me live vicariously through you the past two weeks :-P Hope you don't mind if I *steal* a few of your ideas for all the up and coming weddings I'll be involved in because they sure made your wedding beautiful.
